Pontes was honored at the CDP Awards Latin America 2026, held on April 14 in São Paulo, one of the most relevant global events dedicated to environmental transparency.
In this context, the event also highlighted small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have been driving the climate agenda in the region. As emphasized by Carla Leal, “awarding them is not merely a symbolic action or a reputational initiative. It is a market instrument with significant structural effects, since the transition to a low-carbon economy depends on incentives distributed across the entire value chain.”
Pontes’ participation in this agenda reinforces its positioning as a company that combines consistent environmental performance with a strategy based on data, science, and measurable impact.
Transparency and Data as Strategic Pillars
Pontes’ presence at the event demonstrates the alignment between its discourse and practice. The company publishes and verifies its CO₂ emissions across its entire operation, having achieved carbon neutrality in scopes 1 and 2, in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol – Brazil).
This commitment to transparency strengthens the organization’s credibility and demonstrates alignment with CDP principles, which recognize the central role of data in driving structural change.
In addition, Pontes demonstrates climate leadership by anticipating and exceeding targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), achieving a 51.7% reduction in emissions. This outcome reflects advanced climate management guided by performance and consistent results.

Environmental Conservation and Positive Impact in the Caatinga Biome
Based on a bioeconomy model sustained by standing forest, Pontes actively contributes to the conservation of the Caatinga biome, ensuring the preservation of more than 25,000 hectares of native vegetation.
The regenerative approach integrates economic performance, social responsibility, and environmental conservation, positioning the company as a reference in the carnauba wax sector and aligned with global ESG best practices.
What is CDP?
CDP is an international non-profit organization that manages one of the world’s leading systems for the dissemination of environmental data. Through annual questionnaires, CDP supports companies, investors, cities, states, and regions in measuring, managing, and disclosing their impacts related to climate change, water security, and forests.
By promoting transparency and the standardization of environmental data, CDP plays a central role in mobilizing capital and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy.
