Pontes is the 1st company of biowax sector in the world to measure the CO2 emissions of its entire operation and to be Carbon Neutral, (Published and Verified), according to the GHG Protocol Brazil method.
The operations in Piauí had already reached the goal of 100% renewable energy use, with the use of biomass and self- generation solar energy. The operations in Ceará are almost there, using 99% of renewable energy from biomass and implementing solar panels for self-generation, starting in 2023.
Pontes operation are “Zero Waste”, with 98% of reuse
and recycling of waste, such as biomass for its own energy generation and bio-fertilizers, avoiding the disposal of 1,378 tons of garbage per year.
